27 Apr
Summary
- New evidence includes alleged AI chatbot queries about body disposal.
- Victim found on bridge; friend believed dead, remains unidentified.
- Suspect's story changed multiple times during police interviews.

Hillsborough County prosecutors have unveiled new evidence in the homicide of University of South Florida doctoral student Zamil Limon. His body was discovered on the Howard Frankland Bridge, with evidence suggesting his friend, Nahida Bristy, also met a violent end. Authorities are working to identify human remains recovered south of the bridge, as Bristy remains missing.
Hisham Abugharbieh, 26, the victim's roommate, is facing charges including first-degree murder. Prosecutors argue Abugharbieh should be held without bail due to the violent nature of the alleged crimes. They highlighted his alleged use of an AI chatbot to inquire about disposing of a human body days before Limon and Bristy disappeared on April 16.
Investigators compiled evidence including inconsistencies in Abugharbieh's statements. He initially denied seeing the students on April 16 but later changed his story, claiming he drove them to Clearwater. Items belonging to Limon and Bristy, along with blood evidence, were reportedly found in a dumpster at their apartment complex, and blood was also discovered within the apartment itself.
