A tragic incident in Ameenpur has resulted in the death of a 19-year-old engineering student. K Jyothi Sravan Sai, a second-year student, passed away on Wednesday morning after being assaulted with a cricket bat by his girlfriend's mother a day prior.
The confrontation arose when the girlfriend informed her mother about her pregnancy, admitting her relationship with Sai. The mother, in a fit of rage, began striking her daughter with the bat. Sai intervened to protect his girlfriend and sustained a blow to the head.
Although he initially seemed unharmed, Sai later developed breathing problems and was taken to the hospital, where he was declared deceased. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death, noting that it does not currently appear to be an honor killing but a result of the mother's anger.
