A fatal collision involving a Moeller High School student has resulted in indictments for charges other than vehicular homicide. Jehoshua Spence, 29, was indicted by a Hamilton County grand jury on charges including failure to stop after an accident and driving with a suspended license.
The grand jury chose not to indict Spence on aggravated vehicular homicide, despite the death of 15-year-old Dylan Straughn. According to court statements, Spence reported hitting what he believed was a deer and driving home, with Straughn being discovered by another driver hours later. Spence later surrendered to authorities.
Dylan Straughn, a sophomore, was riding his bicycle when he was struck on the night of October 5th. He passed away from his injuries two days later. His family remembers him as a beloved son and brother, known for his outgoing nature, passion for volleyball, and involvement in school activities.
