Medical Student Blackmailed Over Explicit Videos

A 27-year-old medical student in Rajkot has reported a distressing experience involving a former romantic partner she met online approximately one year ago. She alleges that he used a false promise of marriage to engage in sexual relations with her over a period of time.
During their relationship, the accused is reported to have recorded explicit videos of their intimate moments. It is further alleged that he began showing these videos to his friends, and when the victim objected, she was physically assaulted. He then allegedly resorted to blackmail when she refused further relations, threatening to circulate the compromising footage.
The accused has been booked by the B Division police under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those pertaining to sexual intercourse by deceitful means, voluntarily causing hurt, and criminal intimidation, along with relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act. An investigation is currently underway.
