A violent attack took place in the Gurukul International School hostel dormitory on the evening of March 7. A Class 9 student allegedly used an iron rod from a hostel bed to assault fellow students. The incident occurred between 10:30 pm and 11:00 pm. This student, who was the only one from Karnataka in the hostel, has since been taken into custody and sent to a juvenile home.
During counseling, the student reportedly described persistent harassment from peers. He stated that he was frequently mocked, excluded, and prevented from playing cricket properly. The alleged bullying escalated to the point where he overheard a conversation about ragging him, which led to his enraged attack. Eight people, including the hostel warden and a driver who intervened, were injured; two remain under treatment.
