In Takhtupura village, Punjab, a planned electricity transformer theft was thwarted by thick mud. Three men allegedly attempted to steal a transformer from a farmer's field late one Saturday night. Their getaway car became deeply mired in a waterlogged paddy field, forcing them to abandon it.
The following morning, the suspects returned with a recovery truck to free their car. However, this larger vehicle also became stuck in the mud, leaving both vehicles stranded. Suspicious villagers questioned the individuals, uncovering their alleged criminal plan.
Villagers apprehended one suspect, identified as Lovepreet Singh, and handed him to the police. A case has been registered against three individuals, with police actively searching for the other two. Authorities are investigating potential links to previous theft incidents.
