Summary
- Four suspects arrested near Dronacharya stadium with stolen scooters.
- Gang stole motorcycles and scooters, selling them for ₹12,000-₹15,000.
- Nine stolen vehicles, including Bullets and Splendors, have been recovered.

A significant vehicle theft operation was disrupted on March 26 when police apprehended four suspects near Dronacharya stadium. The arrested individuals, hailing from Ferozepur and Moga districts of Punjab, were found with two stolen Honda Activa scooters bearing fake number plates.
During interrogation, the accused revealed their gang had 12-14 members who had traveled to the tricity region from Ferozepur. This syndicate allegedly stole motorcycles and scooters from various parts of Chandigarh, subsequently selling them in Ferozepur and Moga for prices ranging between ₹12,000 and ₹15,000 each.
Investigations indicate the gang's involvement in approximately 15-20 vehicle thefts. They employed a method of removing original number plates and replacing them with fake ones to evade law enforcement. To date, authorities have recovered nine stolen vehicles, including Royal Enfield Bullets and Hero Splendors, connected to cases registered across Chandigarh and Punjab.
Further inquiries have linked some recovered vehicles to e-FIRs filed at Maloya, Sector 26, Industrial Area, and Sector 11 police stations, as well as in Moga and Ferozepur districts. A new theft case has been registered at Maloya police station. While two accused have been placed in judicial custody, the remaining two are undergoing police remand for detailed interrogation. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining gang members and recover more stolen vehicles.
