A high-speed chase through Miami culminated in a dramatic explosion when an alleged Ferrari thief lost control of the luxury vehicle, crashing into a utility pole. The incident occurred in the early morning hours of December 16, involving a stolen Ferrari Purosangue, valued at over $400,000. The impact not only demolished the exotic car but also caused an enormous wooden utility pole to collapse, resulting in a significant power outage affecting Miami's Brickell neighborhood.
Deshawn Prendergast, 28, was the individual pursued by Miami Police after allegedly stealing the Ferrari. Footage captured the car careening down North Meridian Avenue before colliding with a police cruiser and then spinning out of control into the pole. Miraculously, Prendergast emerged from the wreckage unscathed, attempting to flee on foot before surrendering to authorities. He was subsequently treated for minor injuries at Jackson Memorial Hospital and booked into jail.
