Phone Tracker Leads Cops to Abandoned Stolen Car

In a swift operation on Wednesday morning, Chennai police successfully recovered a stolen car using a 'find-my-device' feature. The car owner, Melvin, had briefly left his vehicle unattended at a petrol bunk in Vyasarpadi while paying for fuel. When he returned, he discovered his car, and crucially, his mobile phone, were missing.

The petrol bunk staff immediately contacted the authorities. Inspector Rajinikanth leveraged the phone's GPS tracking capability, identifying the car's movement first towards Gummidipoondi and subsequently to Puzhal. Upon reaching the last known location, officers found the vehicle abandoned.

Further investigation led to the apprehension of Surya, a 25-year-old bike mechanic from Kodungaiyur, and Bharath, 28, from Manali. Both individuals have been arrested and placed in judicial custody as the investigation continues.
