Carlo Soracchi, an undercover officer, confessed to fabricating 'grotesque and cruel' lies to emotionally manipulate two women into long-term sexual relationships. He admitted to exploiting one woman's empathy by falsely claiming his sister was abused by his father, a story he shared knowing the woman had experienced abuse from her own father. Soracchi also lied about his father's death, pretending he had passed away when he was alive.
During his undercover operation infiltrating left-wing groups between 2000 and 2006, Soracchi engaged in a two-year relationship with Donna McLean. He deceived her into believing he wanted to marry her and have children, while he was already married with a child and an undercover officer. He also deceitfully claimed £477 in taxpayer money for a Valentine's Day trip to Italy with McLean, disguising it as a meeting with socialists.
