- Accused promised land suitable for cutting khair trees.
- Investigation revealed land was under court stay order.

Raipur Rani Police have apprehended Krishna Nand, a self-styled spiritual guru, in connection with a Rs 10 lakh fraud case. The accused, also known as Ashwani Kumar, allegedly duped Harshit Singla of Yamunanagar in 2021. Nand, along with an associate, claimed to offer land dispute-free and suitable for khair tree cutting.
Following assurances, the complainant paid a substantial sum. However, it was later discovered that the land was subject to a Punjab and Haryana High Court stay order, and forest department permission for tree cutting was never granted. An FIR was registered on February 16, 2025, after the victim reported the deception.
Police investigation led to the seizure of crucial documents, including agreement papers and bank statements. The accused had been evading arrest since the FIR was filed. He was arrested on March 20 in Kharar, Punjab. Nand claims the money is hidden in Neelkanth and Haridwar.
