A Steiner school in Zaragoza, Spain, has been rocked by allegations of extensive sexual and physical abuse involving children as young as three years old. Two staff members at the Munay Waldorf School are accused of rape, prompting about a dozen complaints from parents of former pupils. Chilling artwork by one young attendee depicted instances of rape and assault, along with staff members with blood around their mouths and a teacher holding a noose.
One mother shared her daughter's terror, recounting claims of a "monster in the bathroom" and a refusal to use the toilet. The alleged abuse by the school's only male staff member and one of the two founding sisters has led to a police investigation. The male suspect was briefly arrested in September 2025 and remains on conditional release, while the female suspect, his partner, has been interviewed by police.
The school, which operated with 20 to 30 pupils aged up to six since its opening in 2020, ceased operations in October. Some of the alleged abuse was reportedly recorded on a phone. The investigation is ongoing, with a specialized police unit from Madrid sent to interview pupils and parents, as the accused reportedly moved from their Zaragoza address.
