A 23-year-old man, Emmanuel Wesley, faces murder charges for allegedly shooting his mother on July 4th. The incident unfolded as they approached the Fullerton Police Department. Prosecutors state that Theresa Jones, 61, was reported missing on July 7th after failing to pick up her grandchild.
Her body was discovered four days later in her vehicle at a church parking lot. Surveillance video captured Jones driving to the police station with her son in the back. He is seen exiting the vehicle after she became unresponsive. Jones sustained two gunshot wounds to her back.
Wesley is currently held without bail at the Orange County Jail. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 50 years to life in prison for the charges.
