The Yamunanagar Crime Investigation Agency (CIA)-II has cracked the murder case of Baljinder Kaur, wife of a village sarpanch in Shyampur. Her son, Gomit Rathi, and his associate, Pankaj, have been arrested. The investigation revealed a deep-seated family dispute between the deceased and her son, which led to Gomit being sent to England nearly two years prior.
Further investigation established that Gomit Rathi secretly returned to India from England on December 18, 2025, with only his accomplice Pankaj aware of his presence. On the night of December 24, 2025, Gomit allegedly attacked his mother, strangling her to death before disposing of the body in a water tank to suggest an accident.
