Son murders bed-bound mother with hammer

A shocking murder case has emerged where a son is accused of using a hammer to kill his own mother. Michael Bowen, aged 35, is facing charges for the alleged murder of his 65-year-old mother, Janet Bowen.

The court was informed that the incident occurred on New Year's Eve at their shared residence. The victim, Janet Bowen, was reportedly bed-bound at the time, having recently suffered a stroke.

Prosecutors indicated that the alleged fatal assault followed an argument between mother and son, which reportedly involved the son smashing a window. Following the incident, Michael Bowen is said to have fled the property in Yateley.
