Morgan Geyser, 23, has been ordered back into institutionalized care after fleeing a Wisconsin group home in November. Geyser, who was involved in a notorious stabbing incident in 2014, cut off her ankle monitoring bracelet on the night of November 22 and was discovered over 165 miles away in Illinois the following day.
She was found with a friend, Chad Mecca, whom she reportedly met at a church. Geyser stated her motivation for escaping was a fear of separation from her friend due to visitation restrictions. Her attorney did not contest the petition to revoke her conditional release.
Geyser was sentenced in 2015 to a maximum of 40 years in a mental institution for stabbing her classmate, an act she claimed was an attempt to appease the fictional character 'Slender Man.' After nearly seven years at Winnebago Mental Health Institute, a judge ordered her release to a group home in January.
