The court has sentenced the accused, Suresh Jadhav, Nilakantha Mamani, Krishna Jamadar, Sunil Ladanti, Ambika Kodekal, and Santhosh Talwar, to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on each.
The investigation revealed that the incident followed a commotion at a party between the families of the deceased, Dayananda Ladanti, and Sunil Ladanti, who was later convicted in the case. Authorities discovered that Sunil Ladanti had paid a ₹3 lakh 'supari' (contract killing fee) for Dayananda's murder.
The case was registered at the Sub Urban police station in Kalaburagi, and the chargesheet was submitted to the court by ACP Geeta Benala, the investigating officer. Judge Mohan Badagandi presided over the trial, and special public prosecutor Rajamahendra G Kiranagi represented the government.
