Nancy Pexton, 70, has been convicted of murdering her sister, Jennifer Abbott, 69, in Camden, north London. The conviction came after a jury found Pexton guilty of stabbing Abbott 10 times on June 10 last year. Abbott's body was discovered decomposing in her flat three days after the attack.
Jurors heard that the victim's distinctive gold Rolex watch, gifted by her son, was missing and later found in Pexton's bag. Pexton claimed she was merely looking after the watch. Evidence presented included past messages where Pexton wrote about planning to kill her sister, though she later claimed she was just venting and loved her.
A neighbor raised the alarm after hearing Abbott's dog barking incessantly. Pexton, who had no fixed address, denied the charges and opted to appear by video link during her trial. Sentencing is scheduled for Friday.
