A shocking discovery was made on Sunday morning in Hanumantapura, Shivamogga, where the charred remains of 58-year-old lecturer Suresh Kumar were found. The grim scene was stumbled upon by local laborers working in his arecanut plantation, who noticed smoke and flames. Upon closer inspection, they found the lecturer's body engulfed in fire, prompting an immediate alert to the Holehonnuru police.
SP B Nikhil visited the site and confirmed that preliminary investigations revealed the victim's motorcycle and bag near the body. His mobile phone was recovered and sent for forensic analysis. Based on the circumstantial evidence, police have registered a murder case, though the exact cause of death is still under investigation.
Suresh Kumar was a lecturer at Akshara College in Shivamogga. He had left his home on Saturday, informing his family he was attending a wedding. His family was tragically notified of his demise on Sunday morning. The final rites were conducted in his village on Sunday evening.
