Zulkernain Ahmed, 21, faces charges of murder and manslaughter following a fatal incident in Sheffield on June 4. Graphic footage showed his car veering onto the wrong side of the road, hitting Divers and then striking Abdullah Yaser Abdullah Taleb, a pedestrian on the pavement. Ahmed also admitted causing grievous bodily harm.
He stated he did not remember seeing Abdullah and that he was "panicking" and "scared" after the collision, wanting to "get away." Ahmed learned of Abdullah's death while attempting to flee the country. He confirmed his driving was "highly dangerous" and expressed "deep remorse and regret" for his choices, offering his apologies to the victim's family.
