Cigarette Row Sparks Brutal Bar Attack

In the early hours of April 20, a dispute over unpaid cigarettes escalated into a violent assault outside a bar in Teka Naka, Nagpur. The incident began around 12:30 AM when two friends were confronted by a group demanding payment for cigarettes. Following their refusal, the attackers allegedly gathered more individuals and brutally assaulted the victims using wheels and rods. The attackers also damaged the complainant's car during the assault.
Kapil Nagar police swiftly responded to the complaint lodged by Sheikh Aqeel Sheikh Jalil. A police team registered charges including attempt to murder and rioting. Seven accused, identified as Mohammad Azhar, Hussain Akram Qureshi, Prince Upadhyay, Ashwin Choudhary, Irfan Khan, Farhan Mustafa Khan, and others from Kamgar Nagar and surrounding areas, were arrested. A search is ongoing for additional absconding suspects. A video capturing the violent attack has since circulated on social media.
