A Seattle woman sustained a severe facial injury requiring surgery following a brutal attack on September 18, 2026. The victim was walking to a store when the assailant, identified as Kamilia Chadli, allegedly threw a wrapper at her. After an exchange, Chadli reportedly used racist and homophobic slurs, spat on the victim, and then bit off a 1-inch diameter piece of flesh from her forehead.
Responding officers found a piece of the victim's flesh, and the victim described the wound as resembling a zombie bite. Court documents indicate Chadli was living in a nearby shelter and has prior documented mental health and substance abuse issues. Chadli fled the scene but was apprehended by a witness who flagged down a marshal.
Chadli, 36, has been charged with felony second-degree assault and is detained on $150,000 bail, with an arraignment scheduled for Monday. A hate crime investigation is also underway, with the possibility of additional charges if evidence supports it under state law.
