Steven Lyons, a notorious Scottish gangland figure, has been brought before a Spanish court. The 46-year-old appeared remotely from his Madrid jail cell to face serious charges. These include allegations of drug trafficking and money laundering, crimes linked to organised criminal activity.
Spanish authorities also seek Lyons in connection with an alleged murder that occurred in Spain during 2024. His arrest took place in Bali in March, executed under a European Warrant issued by Spain's Guardia Civil. He and an associate, identified as Sean R, are currently in custody awaiting future trial proceedings.
Lyons is expected to be transferred to a prison in Andalusia as the legal process continues. He is known as the leader of the Lyons group, a crime syndicate involved in a violent, two-decade-long feud with the rival Daniel organisation.
