In October 2025, a tragic domestic dispute in Modinagar, India has left a woman dead at the hands of her estranged husband. The couple, Rubby and Vikash, had a tumultuous history dating back to 2019 when they conspired to murder a business rival linked to the killing of Rubby's brother.
Two years ago, in August 2019, Rubby and Vikash hired two contract killers for Rs 6 lakh to murder Akshay Sangwan, the man accused of killing Rubby's brother Deependra. After Akshay was released on bail, the couple plotted his movements and ambushed him in his car, shooting him dead. The shooters were arrested along with Vikash, but Rubby went into hiding.
The couple's criminal records continued to grow, with both facing an FIR under the Gangster Act in 2020 and Vikash having attempted murder charges. Rubby was also named in a criminal intimidation case in 2023. Their time in jail deepened the rift between them, and when Vikash was finally released in March 2024, their relationship had deteriorated beyond repair.
This week, on October 15, 2025, the final tragic act unfolded. Vikash arrived at the Ajnara flat where Rubby and their daughters lived, and an argument erupted over the passport and other documents. Vikash shot Rubby at close range in the kitchen before fleeing, leaving their traumatized younger daughter to recount the horrific incident to the police. Rubby was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
