20 Mar
Summary
- Five inmates face charges related to two separate inmate deaths.
- Deaths occurred on consecutive days at Lee Correctional Institution.
- This prison had seven inmate deaths in a 2018 incident.

South Carolina prison officials announced that five inmates have been arrested and charged in relation to the deaths of two prisoners at Lee Correctional Institution. The victims, Mario Leven Harrison, 37, and Xavier Martez Delesline, 33, were killed on December 1 and December 2, 2025, respectively. These events follow a violent incident in 2018 at the same prison where seven inmates lost their lives.
Trumaal Abdul Brown, 35, was charged with murder for Harrison's stabbing death, which occurred after a verbal altercation. For Delesline's death, which involved a stabbing and beating, four inmates—Michael Jayvone Dennis, Rickardo Davon Thompson, Jarquez Kezavion Cooper, and Cameron Christopher Williams—face charges including assault and battery by mob. Authorities have stated that these recent assaults are unrelated.
Lee Correctional Institution, located in Bishopville, is a maximum-security facility designed for violent offenders. The prison has experienced other violent incidents in recent years, including another inmate death in September 2024 and a fight in January 2021. In May 2025, an inmate was found unresponsive in his cell, but an autopsy determined no foul play.
