Hindupur Police Crack SBI Bank Robbery, Recover Huge Gold Haul

In a significant development, Hindupur police have apprehended the second key inter-state suspect involved in the Tumukunta SBI bank robbery that occurred in July 2025. This crucial arrest has led to the recovery of gold ornaments weighing 5,500 grams, estimated to be worth Rs 5.5 crore. The police also seized a Honda City car and a motorcycle, bringing the total value of recovered assets to Rs 5.54 crore.
The police identified the arrested individuals as Anil Kumar Panwar from Haryana and Mohammed Ishrar Khan from Rajasthan. While Panwar was apprehended earlier in August 2025 with 2 kg of stolen gold, Khan's arrest, made under a PT warrant in Rajasthan, resulted in the recovery of an additional 3.5 kg of gold ornaments valued at Rs 3.5 crore. These individuals are reportedly habitual offenders with a criminal history spanning multiple states.
