A Savannah detective has recounted the events of a fatal stabbing that occurred on June 30. The victim, 34-year-old Henry Cawley, was found deceased at his residence on Teresa Drive after allegedly being stabbed by his stepfather, Frank Scott. The incident began when Cawley's mother, Ms. Palmer, called emergency services reporting a disorderly situation.
Ms. Palmer later updated her call, stating that her husband and son were involved in an altercation, and everyone was bleeding. Upon arrival, officers found Cawley unresponsive with significant blood loss. Scott and Palmer were interviewed separately.
Scott stated that Cawley was intoxicated and acting violently towards the dogs and his mother. He claimed to have intervened when Palmer screamed for help, reporting he found Cawley holding a knife after the altercation. Palmer stated her husband saved her life from her son.
Scott was arrested on July 16 and charged with murder. Authorities are awaiting Cawley's autopsy and toxicology reports to determine the exact cause of death, as neither Scott nor Palmer could explain the nine stab wounds.
