Summary
- Hidden cameras were discovered in a San Jose neighborhood aimed at homes.
- Police warn of burglars using deceptive tactics to case residences.
- Residents are urged to check properties for unfamiliar devices.
San Jose police have issued a warning after discovering several hidden cameras in a local neighborhood, believed to be used by burglars casing homes for criminal activity. A homeowner found one camera attached to a power bank in the bushes, while officers later located another potentially connected to Wi-Fi.
Authorities reported previous instances of deceptive tactics employed by criminals, including posing as landscapers or delivery personnel to ascertain if homes were vacant. These suspects remain at large.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant, monitor their properties for any unfamiliar devices, and to contact the police immediately without touching any suspicious items. Similar schemes have been highlighted by law enforcement in other California areas this year.
