San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy Andrew Nunez will be honored with funeral services on Tuesday morning, following his tragic death last month. Deputy Nunez was fatally shot on October 27 while responding to a domestic dispute call. The suspect, Angelo Jose Saldivar, allegedly fired upon the deputy before initiating a high-speed motorcycle chase that ended with his apprehension.
The funeral procession will commence at 8:30 a.m. and the service will begin at 11 a.m. at the Toyota Arena in Ontario. While the funeral itself is not open to the public, the community is encouraged to line the procession route to pay their respects to the fallen hero. Deputy Nunez was a dedicated six-year veteran of the sheriff's department.
Saldivar faces multiple charges, including attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment, and assault with a deadly weapon, related to the incident and the subsequent pursuit. Deputy Nunez leaves behind a wife, a two-year-old daughter, and an unborn child, marking a profound loss for his family and the community.
