Summary
- Two more suspects arrested in expressway robbery cases.
- Suspects apprehended after a three-day search and chase.
- Total of seven arrests made in two separate robbery incidents.
Police have successfully apprehended two more suspects, Umesh Gaikwad (27) and Dnyaneshwar Jadhav (34), wanted for a robbery and assault that occurred on the Nagpur-Mumbai Samruddhi expressway. This latest action escalates the total number of arrests in two distinct expressway robbery cases to seven within a 24-hour period.
The accused were captured in Solapur district following a three-day operation. Authorities received a tip that the pair, known for being habitual offenders with cases across multiple districts, were hiding in the area. They were spotted near a toll plaza and attempted to evade capture, leading to a chase through fields.
With the assistance of local farmers, law enforcement officers disguised themselves and successfully apprehended the two men who were hiding in dense sugarcane fields. These arrests follow the detention of five other accused individuals from various locations on Wednesday, who were involved in a separate dacoity case on the same expressway.
