Summary

- Farmer stabbed, had boiling water poured on him, force-fed drugs
- Clarke convicted of murder, died in prison in October 2025

In a tragic turn of events, a "sadistic" killer who was part of a gang that tortured an ex-soldier has died in prison. Lisa Clarke, 53, from Aston, was convicted of murdering Brian Farmer, a 64-year-old former British Army soldier, back in 2013.
The horrific incident occurred in May 2012, when Clarke and three other men left Farmer to die in his flat in Yardley, Birmingham. Farmer, who had served over 20 years in the military, was subjected to a brutal attack that included being stabbed and having boiling water poured over him. He also suffered 17 separate injuries to his head and neck and was force-fed drugs during the ordeal.
The judge described the gang's actions as "a cruel and unpleasant way of ending the life of a man who had fallen on hard times." Clarke was sentenced to 23 years in prison for her role in the murder. Tragically, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman has now launched an independent inquiry into Clarke's death, which occurred on October 26, 2025, while she was an inmate at HMP Styal in Cheshire.
The news of Clarke's passing comes as a somber reminder of the devastating impact of such senseless acts of violence. As the investigation into her death continues, the focus remains on ensuring justice and accountability for the horrific crimes committed against the late Brian Farmer.
