Sadhvi Prem Baisa, who had been suffering from asthma, developed severe breathing difficulties after falling ill on January 28 in Jodhpur. Following the administration of an injection by a nurse, she collapsed.
She was transported to a hospital where she was declared deceased. News of her passing prompted devotees to assemble at the ashram, demanding a thorough investigation into what they termed a sudden and suspicious death.
The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) has submitted its report, stating that no poison or toxic substances were found in Sadhvi Prem Baisa's body. This finding has largely ruled out earlier suspicions of poisoning.
A special investigation team has been formed to explore all angles of the case. The viscera examination report was submitted on Thursday. The medical board that conducted the post-mortem will review the forensic findings to ascertain the final cause of death.
Police registered a case following a complaint from her father. The post-mortem revealed no external injury marks on the body. The nurse who administered the injection stated that it was given based on a doctor's prescription.
