Dairy Driver Drains 9,800L Milk in Heist

A tanker driver is accused of stealing 9,800 litres of milk, worth approximately Rs 7.6 lakh, from a dairy plant in Karnal, Haryana. The incident occurred on the night of December 17, 2025, after the driver completed a routine delivery of paneer whey.

Instead of exiting the facility, the driver allegedly diverted the tanker to the milk loading area. He then connected his vehicle directly to the plant's milk tank, filling it with milk before attempting to leave. Plant security intercepted the tanker, discovering over 9,110 kilograms of unauthorized milk.

Three individuals were arrested in connection with the theft, including the tanker driver, a co-accused, and a security guard. The complaint suggested a conspiracy to systematically remove milk from the premises, with significant bank transactions found in a co-accused's account indicating a larger operation.

Recently, the Punjab and Haryana High Court granted bail to the security guard. The court noted that the guard had been in custody since December 19, 2025, and that the investigation had concluded. The court emphasized that pre-trial detention should not be punitive and granted bail, subject to furnishing bonds, without prejudice to the trial's outcome.
