In a significant move against illegal drug operations, Chandauli police recently concluded the forfeiture process for six immovable properties. The total estimated value of these seized assets amounts to Rs 3.5 crore. These properties were identified as illegally acquired by Swapnil Keshri, who is implicated in a codeine syrup racket.
Keshri, a resident of Krishna Nagar Colony in Chandhasi, is currently incarcerated. The forfeiture action was taken under Section 68F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. This legal measure targets assets believed to be the proceeds of illicit trafficking.
The forfeited properties include a plot in Chandhasi valued at Rs 1.5 crore, a house in Bechupur worth Rs 95 lakh, another property in the same area costing Rs 25 lakh, two plots in Chandhasi totaling Rs 50 lakh, and a final property in Harishankarpur valued at Rs 30 lakh. Keshri faces a total of four cases registered across Mughalsarai, Varanasi, and Sonbhadra.
