Russia Job Scam: 250 Youths Duped of Rs 1.5 Crore

A fraudulent firm based in Gonda has allegedly duped over 250 youths of Rs 1.5 crore by promising employment opportunities in Russia. The firm, "Multi Immigration Counselling", operated from Harsh Tower in Gonda and lured victims through advertisements on Facebook and Instagram.
Victims were offered positions such as drivers, technicians, and electricians with salaries ranging from 79,000 to 1 lakh Russian Ruble. They were instructed to submit documents and sign agreements for passport and visa processing, collectively paying about Rs 1.5 crore in registration fees.
Several individuals from various districts traveled to Delhi on February 23, expecting to fly to Russia. However, they were informed at the airport on February 24 that their tickets had been cancelled. Upon returning to Gonda, they discovered the firm's office was locked, prompting them to file a police report.
An FIR has been registered at Kotwali station against six accused, including the main operator Vivek Kumar. Police have questioned employees and the building owner. Meanwhile, victims staged a protest, alleging insufficient police action.
