Rotherham Raid: Guns, Drugs, Frozen Animals Found
5 Mar
Summary
- Firearms, drugs, and frozen wildlife were discovered at a Rotherham residence.
- Twenty-two suspected stolen off-road bikes and a valuable Toyota Hilux seized.
- Arrest made for animal welfare offenses, drug dealing, and suspected stolen property.

A significant police operation in Rotherham has led to the arrest of a 40-year-old man and the discovery of a substantial illegal hoard. The raid, conducted on Lockwood Road in East Herringthorpe, uncovered firearms, including air rifles and crossbows, alongside controlled drugs believed to be intended for supply.
The operation also yielded a grim collection of frozen wildlife, including foxes, hares, rabbits, and a deer. Additionally, 22 off-road bikes, suspected to be stolen, and a Toyota Hilux valued at over £30,000 were seized.
Authorities also found injured dogs at the property, suspected to be used for hunting purposes, and these animals were taken for welfare reasons. The arrest is part of a broader police initiative targeting rural and wildlife crime, with support from the RSPCA. Police emphasize the connection between those involved in animal hunting and wider criminal activities.
