In Rome, law enforcement has announced an arrest in the investigation into the death of Michael Brown. On April 1, police responded to a report of an unresponsive person in the 200 block of East Dominick Street. Officers discovered Michael Brown, 31, deceased in a wooded area near Railroad Street. His death was attributed to a puncture wound.
Following an investigation, Gregory Mignot Jr., 47, also of Rome, was arrested on April 6. The Rome Police Detective Division and Special Response Team took Mignot Jr. into custody during a search warrant execution at an apartment on North Levitt Street. He faces a charge of second-degree murder in connection with Brown's homicide.
