A fatal stabbing on St. Paul Street in Rochester resulted in the death of a 33-year-old man early on Saturday, June 20th. Officers responded to reports of a stabbing outside The Mafia Hub bar and found Kameron Nelson, a cook at the establishment, suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined the incident began with an argument inside the bar between Alexavier Colon, 23, and his girlfriend. The dispute escalated outside, and Nelson reportedly intervened to assist the woman. Colon is alleged to have then stabbed Nelson multiple times. Colon was apprehended by the Rochester Police Department's SWAT Team and Tactical Unit at a West Main Street apartment.
Colon has been charged with second-degree murder. He has a prior conviction for second-degree criminal possession of a weapon from a 2021 incident and was sentenced in 2023 to three years in prison. He was released from prison last month and was wearing a GPS ankle monitor when arrested. The investigation remains ongoing, with detectives seeking information and video evidence.
