The Lahore High Court recently dismissed Rizwan's challenge to the NCCIA's jurisdiction. However, the court mandated his cooperation while simultaneously instructing the agency to avoid harassment and unnecessary inconvenience. Rizwan was also permitted to seek recovery of his belongings, primarily his phone.
Rizwan's legal representatives have highlighted the agency's lack of follow-up communication post-High Court ruling. They are pressing for written specifics on the investigation's basis and confirmation of any required appearances by Rizwan.
The inquiry, which also involves batter Imam-ul-Haq, emerged after Pakistan's Lord's Test defeat. While Imam completed a questionnaire, Rizwan sought legal counsel regarding jurisdiction. His current legal strategy emphasizes adherence to the court's framework.
