On March 8, 2026, a brazen shooting occurred at the Beverly Crest residence of global music and business mogul Rihanna. The incident took place around 1:15-1:21 p.m. when an individual in a white Tesla fired between seven to ten rounds from an AR-15-style rifle towards the property.
Bullets impacted the front gate, an Airstream trailer, and the main house, with one round penetrating an interior wall. Law enforcement confirmed Rihanna was home at the time, though it remains unclear if her partner, A$AP Rocky, or their three children were present. No injuries were reported.
Authorities quickly identified and apprehended a suspect, 35-year-old Ivanna Lisette Ortiz from Florida, approximately 30 minutes later in a Sherman Oaks parking lot. The rifle used in the attack and shell casings were recovered from her vehicle. Ortiz faces attempted murder charges and is being held on $10.225 million bail.
Investigators are meticulously examining Ortiz's social media and background for any connection to Rihanna or indications of premeditation. Early reports noted a 2023 domestic violence arrest, and authorities are seeking to understand the motive behind this "rash behavior."
