Jordan D. Jarrett, 32, has been charged in Wayne Circuit Court with several offenses stemming from alleged robberies at two Richmond businesses. The charges include armed robbery, robbery, criminal confinement, and intimidation. These offenses, particularly the armed robbery and criminal confinement, are Level 3 felonies, carrying potential sentences of up to 16 years in prison.
According to Richmond police, Jarrett is accused of robbing clerks at the Clark gas station on June 14 and the Milkhouse on June 15. During the first incident, he allegedly wore a face mask and threatened a clerk by saying he had a gun and that her refusal to open the register "ain't worth your life." At the second robbery, a handgun was reportedly held to a victim's head.
Authorities identified Jarrett from surveillance footage obtained from one of the crime scenes. While Jarrett claimed to have a BB gun at the second store, an affidavit indicated he was armed with a semi-automatic handgun. He initially denied involvement but later admitted to participating in the holdups, stating he was addicted to meth. He is currently held in the Wayne County Jail on a $125,000 cash bond. Prosecutors are also seeking to have him declared a habitual offender due to previous convictions for child molesting, robbery, and battery.
