Siddipet police apprehended nine individuals, including a retired Army officer, in connection with a dacoity that occurred on April 4. The thieves targeted a doctor's residence, tying up the occupants and making off with gold chains, earrings, and 1 lakh in cash. The operation led to the recovery of stolen goods worth 20 lakh.
The investigation, aided by CCTV footage and fingerprint analysis, identified Srikanth, a retired Army personnel now working as a security guard, as the prime conspirator. He allegedly enlisted the help of friends, including individuals with prior criminal records from other districts.
Authorities confirmed that some of the arrested individuals are repeat offenders. For instance, one accused had a history of involvement in 13 previous cases, while another had 10 prior offenses. The police's swift action has led to the resolution of the case and the recovery of significant stolen property.
