In a recent crackdown on repeat offenders, the Vadodara crime branch has arrested two history-sheeters for breaking into a temple in the Karelibaug area on October 3. Acting on a tip-off, the police intercepted the duo, Ajay Rajput and Rohan Rajmal, in the Harni area.
During the investigation, authorities recovered cash and coins worth Rs 1,700 from the accused. The pair confessed to stealing two donation boxes containing over Rs 25,000 from the Ma Amba temple. CCTV footage proved instrumental in helping the police identify and track the culprits.
Both Rajput and Rajmal have lengthy criminal records. Rajput has been previously involved in vehicle thefts, chain snatching, and burglaries, while Rajmal has over 14 registered offences, including loot, burglary, and assault.
