Reading Man Fatally Shot in Apartment Home

A fatal shooting occurred early Friday morning in the 500 block of Lancaster Avenue, resulting in the death of 45-year-old Reading resident Alex B. Rosado-Laboy. The victim was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m. at his apartment.

Authorities reported that a second man was also shot inside the residence and was transported to Reading Hospital. Investigators have identified a suspect in connection with the violence and are actively seeking this individual. The district attorney's office stated that the shootings are not considered random acts.

Police determined that the suspect forcibly entered the apartment around 2 a.m. This incident represents the second fatal shooting in Reading within the past week, following a separate homicide on July 4th. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact Reading police or Crime Alert Berks County.
