Rapper Richard Maurice Colbert, known for his song "Hit the Quan," was arrested on February 18th in the Ft. Lauderdale area of Florida. Authorities responded to his neighborhood where he had allegedly placed orange traffic cones and cinder blocks in the road, refusing to remove them. When officers attempted to detain him, Colbert reportedly fled, leading police on a pursuit through several backyards and past multiple residences.
Colbert was eventually apprehended at a nearby home and subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment of a leg laceration before being taken to the station. He now faces three felony counts of burglary, along with misdemeanors for obstructing a public roadway and resisting officers. Additional charges stem from alleged written threats made on February 20th. Colbert has pleaded not guilty and is awaiting his next court date on April 14th.
