18 Feb
Summary
- Girl's death initially ruled suicide, later revealed as murder.
- Prime suspect arrested after DNA evidence linked him to the victim.
- Accused confessed to attempted rape and strangulation.

In a shocking turn of events, police in Roopangarh have determined that the death of a minor girl, discovered hanging in a field hut nearly three months ago, was actually an attempted rape and murder staged to appear as a suicide.
The main accused, identified as Nolaram Bagaria, 23, was apprehended following forensic analysis that conclusively matched his DNA with samples recovered from the victim. A second minor, alleged to have participated in the crime, has also been detained by authorities.
The victim's body was found on November 11th in a village field, with initial suspicions arising due to her feet touching the ground. Subsequent postmortem and forensic examinations, alongside a thorough investigation of mobile location data and extensive CCTV footage review, led to the breakthrough.
Bagaria reportedly provided inconsistent statements and initially resisted providing DNA samples. However, the forensic evidence confirmed the presence of his skin cells on the victim. He was arrested after fleeing, having allegedly attempted to influence the victim's father to file complaints against the police.
During interrogation, Bagaria allegedly confessed that he and the detained minor attempted to sexually assault the girl. When she resisted, he claims he strangled her and meticulously staged the scene to mimic suicide. Charges of murder and rape have now been invoked.
