Rape Victim Forced Into Marriage, Black Magic Torture

In Nagpur, a distressing case has emerged involving a 21-year-old woman allegedly subjected to rape, blackmail, and forced marriage. The victim and main accused were acquainted since their school days. The assault reportedly occurred between 2 PM and 4 PM on November 5 last year near the Pili River, after which the accused allegedly took her to his uncle's residence.
During this incident, two other individuals, identified as Raja Sheikh and an accomplice, allegedly filmed the act. They then threatened to make the video viral if the woman did not comply with their demands. Subsequently, the victim was allegedly coerced into marrying the primary accused.
Further adding to her trauma, the complaint details that during her menstrual period, a 'Baba' performed black magic rituals on her. The victim's mother-in-law, along with other family members and associates, are accused of inflicting severe mental and physical torture.
Police have invoked sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) related to rape and the eradication of superstitions. The accused husband was apprehended on March 30, while Raja Sheikh and his associate remain at large. The survivor is currently receiving counseling.
