Tragedy struck Rancho Cordova, California, on Tuesday, January 27, when four people, including two children and two adults, were found shot to death inside a home. The incident is being investigated as a murder-suicide by the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
Law enforcement responded to the residence after receiving two 911 calls. The second caller claimed to be the shooter, stating they were "setting up booby traps and turning off the cellphone." Deputies evacuated several neighboring homes before discovering the victims.
A drone first located an unresponsive male subject, believed to be the shooter. Upon entering the residence, deputies found a woman, a boy, and a girl also deceased from gunshot wounds.
