On Friday, November 1st, 2025, a police team in Ranchi acted on a tip-off and nabbed three drug peddlers near the Pahari Mandir under the Sukhdevnagar police station limits. The officers seized 28.59 grams of brown sugar that the accused had brought from Bihar to sell at higher prices in different parts of Ranchi.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Shiva Ram, Amar Kumar Yadav, and Suraj Kumar Sharma, all residents of areas under the Sukhdevnagar police station. According to City Superintendent of Police Paras Rana, Amar Kumar Yadav is also a murder accused and is registered under the POCSO Act with the Sukhdevnagar and Kotwali police stations.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they used to purchase the drugs from one Baban Shah, also known as Mausa Ji, in Sasaram, Bihar. The police have registered a case against the trio under the relevant sections of the NDPS Act, and further investigation is underway.
