In Ranchi, the investigation into the death of Asif Ansari has concluded with the arrest of five individuals. Ansari, aged 30, was found deceased in the Gadigaon area on Thursday, February 20, 2026. He had sustained severe head injuries.
Authorities revealed that Ansari had maintained an extramarital affair with Biula Toppo for the past 15 years. Biula's husband, Johnson Minj, was aware of this relationship. In a fit of rage, Minj allegedly conspired with three associates, Deepak Agrawal, Prince Kumar, and Prem Lakra, to murder Ansari. Police stated that Minj provided approximately Rs 4 lakh to his accomplices for the killing.
The accused reportedly shot Ansari on Wednesday night, February 19, 2026. They then inflicted repeated blows to his head at the scene to disguise the murder as an accident. Biula Toppo is also accused of aiding her husband in concealing evidence. All five suspects have been apprehended and placed in judicial custody.
